Dr. John Steffens, D.C.

``Chiropractic changed my life, and it saved my college soccer career``

“My fascination with chiropractic started in college. As a college soccer player, I had developed what could best be described as a chronic pulled groin muscle. It was affecting my running, kicking and completely hindering my ability to play. At the time, we tried everything to help – athletic training, hot baths, cold baths, massage therapy, physical therapy, stretching, taping, you name it… Nothing was helping.

It wasn’t until I went to see a chiropractor, that we finally figured out what was causing my problem. My lower back and pelvis were out of alignment, causing undue stress on the nerves and muscles in my upper leg. The treatment results were immediate, and I was able to resume playing soccer. What was even more impressive to me, is that chiropractic had the answer to my problem when all of the other approaches did not. “

After finishing his undergraduate degree, Dr. John moved to Vail, Colorado to enjoy all that the mountain life had to offer. In Vail, he started working at the Marriott, where he learned about their famous Spirit to Serve and was awarded multiple national recognitions for his outstanding service. His drive to help people in even more meaningful ways, and his earlier chiropractic experience called him to the field of chiropractic.

Dr. John received his Doctorate Degree with Cum Laude from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO in 2006.

Dr. Steffens proudly serves families and individuals in the Denver, Central Park, Commerce City and Park Hill neighborhoods. His pediatric training draws young families with children, as well as others with different spinal or sports-related issues. He enjoys working with professionals who seek his help with ergonomic home office set-up and posture correction after prolonged sitting at  a desk.

He has been invited as a guest speaker on a variety of health topics ranging from chiropractic to nutrition, to stress and workstation ergonomics. He has also worked as a chiropractor for national athletes and the Colorado Rapids through the Maximized Living Wellness Advisory Council.

"Chiropractic is for everyone and having a family practice is the best! It’s our family serving your family, and that’s the way we like it. We get to help generations of people from newborns to great grandparents, from office workers to athletes live healthier lives."

Meet Szabina Steffens

Szabina Steffens is the Office Manager at Dr. John Steffens Chiropractic. When she introduces herself saying she and her husband have a chiropractic practice, people often ask if she’s also a chiropractor. She laughs and says “No. But I do everything except for the adjustments.”

Szabina received her qualifications in Colorado at Metro State University, Denver – B.A. in Business Management and International Business.

Szabina has her hands full with their two young kids. She’s keeping her son and daughter busy and trying to instill the same healthy lifestyle as Dr. Steffens and she teaches about it in workshops. Pro-active health care is her motto.

Szabina is the community connector and she enjoys bringing fresh, educational, and value-added wellness workshops to the local community. Her passion for going back to the roots of nature came with the love of running a low-toxic lifestyle. You will often find her teaching the community non-toxic household products.

A fun fact about Szabina is that she’s a native of Hungary. Growing up with old-school traditions and a holistic approach to well-being, health and wellness carry on to her life today. She’s a wellness advocate and if you’d like to be part of her healthy mom community, join the Health and Healing community group.

Dr. John just loves being together with his wife Szabina and their two children. He stays active and healthy through working out, hiking, and riding bikes. When Szabina is not in the clinic, she likes to spend time with family, exercise, cook a healthy meal, camp in the mountains or read a good book. Together, they often work on DIY home projects.

They like to be very active going for walks to the park, playing outside, or anything else that gets them moving!
